Endless march of these high-rise blocks

• WHILE local planning meetings were suspended, apparently, the enormous development in City Road was pushed through. It is difficult not to wonder who is profiting from the high-rise (16-storey) dwellings triangle adjacent to the City Road basin.  

With the Mayor’s instructions to come into force next April on the size of rooms for social housing, surely there has long been a recommendation not to build too much high-rise, mixed-use accommodation? If this is a sop to the speculators on the 24-storey office block not yet begun, what is to stop the endless encroachment all along the north-east side of City Road?
