Affordable?

Published: 16 December, 2010

• CAMDEN School for Girls was founded with the intention of offering affordable education for girls at a time when affordable education, indeed any education at all, was largely unavailable to them.

As an ex-Camden girl (2008) I fully support the students’ occupation in protest against a rise in university tuition fees and the scrapping of educational maintenance allowance.

Frances Mary Buss founded CSG upon the principle that education should be accessible to all, no matter their financial background; it is only right that its pupils take an active role in protesting against measures which will deny future students even that basic right.
