Teenagers can walk

Published: 27 August, 2010

• WE should save the Freedom Pass for pensioners who cannot walk and stop the free travel pass for teenagers who can and should walk.

Pensioners use the Freedom Pass to go shopping, to the theatre and to lunches, boosting the economy by spending.

It improves their social life, prevents them being isolated, thus making them less depressed and ill and less of a burden on the NHS.

Teenagers are in danger of being obese, diabetic and on the gastric band waiting list.

They need exercise, otherwise they will be a burden on the NHS.

They also take up seats that the hard working have paid for.
