Success of trust helps unlock youngsters’ talents

Published: 06 August, 2010

• I AM fortunate enough to be chairman of the Transformation Trust, a children’s charity which recently celebrated its first birthday at the O2 arena.

This occasion was marked with a fantastic end-of-term party attended by about 12,000 school pupils from across the country, including those from Islington Arts and Media College.

The trust has already raised in excess of £2million and is helping young people, mostly from deprived areas, to develop self-confidence, new skills and unlock hidden talents by giving them free access to after-school activities, usually only available in the independent sector.

As we celebrate a year of success, which has seen so many young people benefit from the trust, I look forward to more children being given the opportunities the trust-funded projects provide.

SIR DAVID BELL
Chairman
The Transformation Trust, N1
