Stop abuse of resident motorists

Published: 19 August, 2010

• CAMDEN Council is abusing its powers by using council tax money to install CCTV cameras to trap motorists.

On Sunday evening, I stopped my car for one second at the loading bay in Constantine Road, to drop someone off.

A CCTV camera photographed me stopping, and the photo I was sent clearly shows someone getting out of my car.

I received a fine of £120, which I am contesting.

This draconian action by an abusive council should stop immediately. Camden residents should make the council accountable to its residents rather than it lording it over them.

I invite residents, especially drivers, to write to their councillors and to the council leader, to remind them they were elected to serve residents, not abuse them. www.camden.gov.uk/councillors
