Hours of noise…

• LIKE Peter Cave, (Cut down the noise, Letters August 13) I dislike noise, but his criticisms are unjustified.

He needs to differentiate between necessary noise such as street and pavement repairs and gratuitous noise.

What he defines as noise “during unsocial hours” are the hours not convenient to him.

Some of his neighbours I know have different work patterns. You can’t please all the people all of the time.
