Cuts to hit roadworks?
Published: 5 August, 2010
• IN this age of austerity, with the council looking to starve the borough of vital services affecting all aspects of local life, will you let me know whether this will affect the incessant roadworks everywhere?
I have always wondered where the money comes from to dig up a road for several weeks, fill it up, only to excavate the same road again a few weeks later. Not to mention the need to replace paving stones.
Whoever is in charge of these roadworks should be running the country, because he/she is someone who has found a way to make money out of unnecessary work whatever the economic weather.
