Congestion at hospital
Published: 27 August, 2010
• IN relation to illegal parking by University College London Hospital ambulances it is a pity that emotion is obscuring the facts.
The ambulances parked over a wide area around the hospital do cause serious congestion and when parked at night, as some are, cause disturbance to residents.
As part of the original planning permission for the hospital development UCLH were supposed to provide parking on the vacant Odeon site in Grafton Way in advance of the development of that site.
They should be required to do so urgently.
To build a large new hospital in central London without parking provision for ambulances hardly constitutes good planning.
