The bookshop owner who’s truly a local hero

• I AM not surprised to hear that David Tobin returned money he found in a secondhand book he bought (Found: the lost £850 bookmark, July 29).

Some years ago I sold David some books.

A few days later he rang and said, very apologetically, that he realised he had undervalued them initially and thus underpaid me by £20.

The next time I saw him, he gave me the extra £20.

This man is a local hero.
