• MATTHEW Lewin’s letter (It stinks!, August 12) concerning the Estelle Road planning application, compelled me to write and address the implication that councillors are not working hard in their communities.
In Gospel Oak we’ve been fighting round the clock to dispel myths surrounding its reputation as a centre of criminal activity (propagated by its former Tory councillors), discussing publicly the regeneration plans for the area which were kept secret by the previous administration and strengthening our connections with local people.
That’s why I have asked officers to provide me with all the information concerning 8 Estelle Road including clear answers as to why planning was granted under delegated powers.
The decision should have been brought for public discussion to the development control committee.
Once collected, all of this information will be made available to Mr Lewin and any other Gospel Oak residents concerned about this matter.
