Young, but not stupid

Published: 30 April, 2010

• IN response to Alice McAllister’s letter about Labour’s presence outside a school (Playground politics, April 23): children may be too young to vote but they are nevertheless constituents. They have the right to be informed about the political process and the issues that affect them – health, education and their future.
Children are young, not stupid, and they were not only delighted by our balloons; more than a few took our leaflets and ran to their parents to explain with excitement our policy of defending free school meals for all.
