Young girl let down by cabbies

Published: 15 April, 2010

• I AM very angry.
My granddaughter went to a party on Thursday evening April 1 and was coming home via King’s Cross at 2.30am. She hailed a black cab – two in fact – to go to Regent’s Park. Both refused to take her as it was out of their way! My granddaughter was not drunk or incapacitated in any shape or form.
She is only 17 years old and does not drink. Yet they refused to take her. We have always told our children to only take black cabs, and look what happens!
A young girl was killed a few weeks ago in that area and I wonder, would those cab drivers have felt guilty if another young person was attacked or injured?
Isn’t it their job and don’t they, after all, double their prices after midnight?
