Threat to a masterpiece

• LIB Dems are backing residents’ efforts to save the historic lobby of the Beaux Arts Building in Manor Gardens, Upper Holloway, and get the building listed. I have now written as leader of the council, adding my voice to calls for the foyer to be protected.
It is not acceptable that it is under threat from developers who want to put three studio flats and two offices into the lobby. The building is magnificent and needs to be preserved. The lobby is an architectural masterpiece and should be listed to protect this historic building.
