The tell-tale signs of a clean pub
Published: 8 April, 2010
• I HAVE always been quite grateful to lipstick, for showing up on cups and glasses (No lip service, pub tells customers, April 1).
It is proof that these articles have not been washed properly, and one can take appropriate action.
But what about when there isn’t any lipstick to be seen?
This could well mean that the vessels have been used by people, who do not wear lipstick and yet are equally dirty.
There is only one answer to this – get the staff to wipe the rims of all cups and glasses, with a clean, damp cloth, before putting them into the dishwasher, whether or not there is lipstick present. Or simply buy a decent dishwasher!
