School cash

Published: 29 April, 2010

• WELL done our talented young musicians, pictured, who sang in the Royal Albert Hall last week (New Journal, April 22).
They have made us Camdeners proud!
However, I do worry that the funding for these important extra-curricular activities may be under threat if the Tories and Liberal Democrats are controlling our schools after the May elections.
I have heard already that Netley Primary School will not be receiving the £3million it needs in order to deliver vital refurbishment works to the school.
How can we expect our children to continue achieving these superb results if they are not provided with the facilities they deserve?
The fears of parents in Netley and other schools in the southern wards are real and stem from the fact that the funding for schools does not seem to be a feature in the manifestos of the two parties that control Camden Council – the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.
