Saving our markets

• MANY readers will have used the popular Farmers’ Market situated behind William Tyndale School in Upper Street over the last 10 years.
After work started on a school astroturf pitch, which will be open to the community, the market faced an uncertain future.
As a result, I took up the issue and helped it secure space at Chapel Market – right at the heart of Angel – which is now open for business on Sundays between 10am and 2pm.
This is the second market in the borough Liberal Democrat councillors have stepped in to save. Archway Market had to leave its former site and the council found it another location.
