Safer teams

• WALKING up West End Lane over the weekend, I saw the new Safer Neighbourhoods Team office opposite West Hampstead tube was nearly ready to open – the new sign above the shop front said it was serving West Hampstead & Fortune Green wards.
Why hasn’t Kilburn got one of these offices? From Kingsgate Road to Rowley Way, on most estates and streets in Kilburn anti-social behaviour is a big concern. Talking to High Road traders, it’s clear that a bit more presence would be welcomed in the ward and a permanent base in the ward would be really reassuring to residents and businesses alike.
What about using the local environment office on Belsize Road which Lib Dem-run Camden Council closed more than a year ago?
If elected, I and my fellow Labour candidates would work with council officers and local police to see how we could ensure that Kilburn’s Safer Neighbourhoods Team has a base in the ward.

Labour Party candidate, Kilburn ward
