Lost funds

• POOR Glenda Jackson: she was at pains in her opinion piece (Forum, April 8) to show how Labour is different from the Conservatives.
Unfortunately, she merely shows us just how much has united their governments of the past 30 years in her statement that the Conservatives “refused local authorities the capital receipts from right to buy, always in the belief that the private sector knows best”.
Labour continued to take the capital receipts from houses flogged off under right to buy, leaving local authorities without any funding to replace all those precious council homes that people have bought; 4,000 in Camden during the past 13 years.
