Let down over lifts

Published: 2 April 2010

CANCELLATION of lifts to the overground platforms by Network Rail is the direct result of Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s ill-judged decision to shelve plans for step-free access at Finsbury Park underground station. I have contacted Network Rail to demand an immediate explanation. This is one of the busiest stations outside central London, with 49.1million passenger journeys a year.

I will not rest until our elders, disabled people and parents with prams and children get their long-overdue lifts at this major transport hub.
