Hollow

• COUNCILLOR Keith Moffitt’s warm words on council housing will ring hollow with many (Vote 2010, April 1).
This is the man that leads a Liberal Democrat-Tory coalition that is selling off council housing when 18,000 people are waiting for a home and despite the fact that the cost of the kitchen units being provided has been hopelessly over costed - bringing the whole case for sale into question.
The same council led by Cllr Moffitt has also just dropped the affordable housing target of 50 per cent, whatever the Lib Dem leaflets say, meaning people from teachers to cleaners to police officers will have access to less and less housing in a borough with astronomically high private housing costs.
Like many of their ‘policies’ the Lib Dems will sound inoffensive in leaflets but they have no plan to provide the most basic human need for Camden’s many different communities.
