• YOU rightly gave the Forum space (April 22) to Kathryn Busby of The Equality Trust to highlight the damage inequality does to all in our society.
As she said, all four political parties have been talking about these issues. But only one, the Green Party, is pledging immediate, effective action, through a £170/week basic pension, as demanded by the National Pensioners’ Convention, which would immediately lift the more than 20 per cent of pensioners now living in poverty out of that state.
And only one party, the Green Party, included in their Camden 2010-11 council budget proposals provision for ensuring that everyone who works for Camden Council, including for contractors, is paid the London Living Wage of £7.60/hour.
