Cuts fear

• THE result of this election that I most fear is a Tory government that will take an axe to public services.
So I am anxious about anything that makes it more likely the Tories will gain power. At the Camden Square Neighbourhood Association hustings I asked Jo Shaw whether she and Nick Clegg would support the formation of a Tory government in the event of a hung parliament.
The experience of Camden is not encouraging. Voting Lib Dem has led to a coalition and given power to the Tories for the first time I can remember in Camden. Nick Clegg seems to be singing the same anti-Labour tune. Lib Dems talk a lot about the need for change. Some would be good, including looking at proportional representation, but I do not want change to be at the price of bringing back a party committed to cuts and job losses, particularly women’s jobs, at local and national level.
