Caretakers not what they were
Published: 1 April, 2010
• I AM a council tenant and have similar experiences regarding new cleaning schedules (Taking care, March 25).
In the past caretakers have cleaned the yard, as and when required.
With the changes, Veolia are now employed (I wonder at what cost?) to do just a weekly clean.
The new caretaker does not perform extra duties inside the building.
On the contrary, the one in my block does not even wash the ground floor hall.
So, Camden housing department, let us please discontinue the unnecessary and ill-conceived contract with the private company, and return to the former, satisfactory, arrangements.
