Suffering of Christians in Palestine is upsetting

AS one of the organisers of and lead singer (soprano) in the alternative, inter-faith, carol event at the Actor’s Church, Covent Garden, I was very pleased to see your article (‘Go to hell!’ Peace carols under fire, December 11).
We have had much support from Christians for this event, which used Christmas to raise awareness as to what is happening now in Bethlehem, the rest of the West Bank and Gaza.
I am therefore surprised members of the Council for Christians and Jews demonstrated against this event and seem to be more upset about the bringing up to date of their carols than the suffering of their fellow Christians in Palestine and incarceration of their holy town of Bethlehem.
