Police intelligence and ‘disrupting’ the vice trade

EARLIER this year the police laid on a greatly over-publicised operation against a West End address in Dean Street, Soho.
Far more officers than were needed rolled-up for photographs and all kinds of crime in addition to prostitution were alleged but when it came to court the police were unable to provide substantiating evidence.
You report (Police action ‘disrupts’ vice trade, December 11) the current police operation against those placing prostitute cards in London telephone boxes.
But ease up on the police verbal about “police intelligence” existing that indicates other colourful factors.
