Need for a change

• THE Liberal Democrats can control as many town halls as they like, but for as long as they lack a credible leader they will always be regarded as lightweights in the opinion polls.
But the Labour Party has been unable to reorganise to form an effective opposition, so are no threat to the coalition and given that the Conservatives are losing support locally, the Lib Dems must feel confident of gaining overall control of the Town Hall next year.
A terrible prospect!
No council house sales in Barnet, but the longest waiting list. No sell-offs in Westminster borough either. Camden’s empire is being disposed of for short-term gains.
Regime change cannot happen in Camden unless there is a credible alternative.
That may have to wait until 2014.
