Hospital boosts area

BETTER Archway Forum has been dismayed to hear of proposals to downgrade Whittington Hospital.
Archway benefits massively from the presence of the hospital, with all those who work in and use it contributing to the local economy. Downgrading the hospital would reduce their numbers, and that positive impact.
When consultants were researching for the mega-building scheme in Archway, Islington Primary Care Trust chief executive Rachel Tyndall, despite living nearby, claimed the area needed a supermarket, because there was no fresh food provision – a statement she refused, repeatedly, to retract. Perhaps she is using a similar approach in her planning for the hospital.
