Comments on housing
THANKS to all of your readers who have sent in their comments on our plans to improve housing in Westminster.
We are, however, fast approaching the end of the six-week consultation (December 14) and I would like to encourage all residents who haven’t yet registered their views on our city-wide draft housing renewal strategy to do so.
Our strategy is initially focusing on four areas – the Church Street neighbourhood and the Brunel, Tollgate and Ebury Bridge estates.
We want to improve the lives of people who live there, so not only their physical environment improves, but the life prospects of everyone who lives in these areas are enhanced.
Under our new draft housing renewal strategy, we have pledged to increase the number of affordable rented homes in Westminster, provide a better range of community and retail facilities, provide more affordable homes for local workers, improve open spaces and to also create a more distinct sense of neighbourhood.
We want to incorporate the views from as many local people as possible into our plans so if you haven’t already please email renewalstrategy@ westminster.gov.uk or call 020 7641 3097 with your comments.
