THE mother of teenage murder victim Jessie Wright has told the Tribune she will never forgive her daughter’s jailed killer as he begins a life sentence.
Johanna Ronayne said: “I’m so angry I can’t describe it. It’s something beyond grief. I will never get it all out. It’s impossible. I can hardly feel it’s so painful. I want to scream but the thing is: even that won’t let it all out.”
It also emerged this week that for years Jessie’s killer Zakk Sackett had been terrorising the Bemerton estate in Barnsbury where he and the teenager grew up together.
And questions were being asked as to why the authorities seemed powerless to do anything about a boy described as “out of control” who was renowned for thefts, violence, assaults against women and intimidation.
An investigation by the Tribune has revealed that, despite numerous court appearances, the intervention of social services, psychiatric reports and anti-social behaviour orders, the estate was “abandoned” to him.
“I stay in Jess’s room to be close to her now,” Ms Ronayne added. “She chose the biggest mirror ever for her room. Every time I look at that, I think about how gorgeous my girl was.”
