POLICE have appealed for information after a 15-year-old boy was left with “life-changing injuries” following an attack in north Westminster on Friday.
The incident, which follows a spate of knife attacks on teenagers in the area earlier this year, took place at 4.30pm in Kilburn Lane when the victim was caught by a group of males aged between 15 and 18 who had chased him from Beethoven Street.
During the attack he is believed to have had his head stamped on.
His condition is described as critical but stable.
Following the assault, Westminster North Labour MP Karen Buck last night (Thursday) appealed for increased funding for youth projects which have been cut.
She said: “I remain desperately anxious about the heightened gang tensions locally, which are by no means restricted to young people who are themselves in any way involved.”
Detectives are yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident. Anybody who believes they have information that could help the inquiry can contact police on 020 7321 9314, quoting reference 6519416/11. Alternatively, to speak anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
