THE NHS chief executive merry-go-round took another turn this week after Camden’s top boss quit.
Liz Wise is taking up a new challenge as North Central London sector NHS trust’s director of quality, improvement, productivity and prevention (QIPP).
NHS insiders said the move would see Rob Larkman, who suddenly quit his £145,000 chief executive role at the Whittington Hospital last month, take up a new role as NCL’s
Camden borough director.
According to the job advertisement, the successful applicant would lead the abolition of NHS Camden.
Mr Larkman was chief executive of NHS Camden, formerly the Camden Primary Care Trust, for six years. He replaced David Sloman at the Whittington Hospital in 2009, with Mr Sloman moving to the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.
Rachel Tyndall, former chief executive of NHS Islington, quit her post as chief executive of NCL last month to take on a job running a cancer division for NHS London.
She left with warnings of a £100 million funding black hole for the sector.
