A MAN who stabbed a bouncer in the neck outside a Chalk Farm music venue has been jailed for six years.
Dean James, 35, struck the unsuspecting victim half an hour after he had asked James to move away from the Barfly in Chalk Farm Road because he was bumping into and threatening members of the public.
Witnesses rushed to help the 31-year-old when they saw what happened and managed to hold the suspect down while police were called.
James was sentenced to six years at Blackfriars Crown Court after pleading guilty to charges of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Karen Lopez from Camden’s violent crime unit said: “This was a callous attack on a man who was simply looking out for other members of the public as they enjoyed an evening out in Camden. I hope this sentencing will reassure the public and the victim that justice has been done.”
