AN aspiring city planner has learned about “footprints” and “Sketch-Up” during an internship with top architects.
Gentrit Hashani, a pupil at Westminster Academy, completed a 10-week placement with internationally recognised architecture firm Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.
The company built the award-winning Westminster Academy and have maintained links with the school since it was completed in 2007.
Gentrit assisted architects in their work on the Angel Building in Islington as well as his own project – a two-storey house for a vacant piece of land near Westminster Academy.
Gentrit said: “It was clear to me that the architects loved their work and did it with such flair. They really made sure I felt like part of the team, taking me on site visits and out to lunch. They taught me how to use Google Sketch-Up and guided me about suitable materials, such as whether the cladding should be brick or tile.”
