TWO cannabis factories have been discovered producing drugs with a street value of £166,000.
Police officers raided a house in Hornsey Road, Holloway, and found 400 plants under strong, bright lights which help them grow.
And in a second raid, officers seized 53 plants from a flat in Coltash Court, in Whitecross Street, Finsbury.
Inspector Mike Cowie, from the Islington’s Safer Neighbourhoods Task Force, said: “People smoke cannabis in parks and stairwells and this causes distress to local residents.
“We’re pleased with these successes and basically we’re going to keep this initiative going because it stops this type of behaviour.”
The raids took place on Thursday January 20 in Holloway and a week later on Thursday January 27 in Finsbury.
Investigations are continuing.
