A MAN has been jailed for nine years after being found guilty of raping a woman in a Stroud Green street.
Metin Sanci, 34, attacked his 21-year-old victim at 5.20am on July 24 last year.
Blackfriars Crown Court heard that the woman had been on a night out when she was suddenly grabbed by Sanci in Hanley Road.
He punched her and put his hands around her throat.
The victim fought back, biting, punching and scratching, but the suspect managed to rape her before fleeing.
A neighbour who heard screams called police and Sanci was arrested about 50 metres away.
The victim required treatment for cuts and bruises at Whittington Hospital in Archway.
The crown court jury found Sanci, from Canning Town, east London, unanimously guilty on January 20.
