Boris Johnson: Sorry folks, I can't fix Jubilee Line quicker

Boris Johnson addresses coffee drinkers at Moments espresso bar

London Mayor Boris Johnson today (Friday) offered little hope that passengers who use the Jubilee Line will get their regular weekend service back anytime soon.
He said the engineering works which disrupt the weekend timetable had to be done, blaming his predecessor Ken Livingstone and Prime Minister Gordon Brown for leaving him with a contract that tied his hands on forcing the work to be done more speedily.
Speaking at the Moments espresso bar in West Hampstead, he told coffee drinkers: "I understand you pain, people who use the Jubilee line. All I can say is that absolutely vital that we make sure that we keep up the investment in London's transport infrastructure. You can cut the budgets of TfL, you can get rid of ludicrous, communist freesheet newspapers but you can't cut investment to London's infrastructure. I'm thinking of Crossrail. I'm thinking of the Jubilee Line. I know how inconvenient it is at the moment but that Jubilee Line, when it is completed, will have a 30 percent increase in its capacity. It will be a substantially better service."
