Health News: Prestigious award for homeless support scheme

A PIONEERING project that has reduced the number of homeless people admitted to hospital has scooped a prestigious award
The London Pathway project, based at University College Hospital (UCLH) won the Andy Ludlow homelessness award.
The project sees a designated nurse and GP make sure homeless patients receive adequate support after they leave hospital.
It has reduced admissions of homeless people to UCLH by 3.2 days per patient – saving the hospital £300,000 a year.
