JOHN Lennon has been honoured with a blue plaque outside the Marylebone house that was the setting of his infamous nude photoshoot with Yoko Ono for the cover of their Two Virgins Album.

Ms Ono was on hand last week to unveil the monument outside 34 Montagu Square, where the couple lived for just three months in 1968.

It means the late Beatle joins just a handful of people including Gandhi and Lord Palmerston to be commemorated with more than one plaque. Ms Ono said: “This particular flat has many memories for me and is a very interesting part of our history. In what would have been John’s 70th year, I’m grateful to you all for commemorating John and this particular part of his London life.”
