And the Regional Media Awards go to...

THE CAMDEN New Journal and our sister paper the Islington Tribune scooped two prestigious awards at today's EDF Energy Hold The Front Page regional press awards.
At a glitzy ceremony at Lingfield Racecourse, Surrey, we scooped Campaign of the Year for our work on helping save the Archway Whittington Hospital's accident and emergency unit in the Spring: our readers will recall how not only did the CNJ and the Islington Tribune highlight the issues around the potential closure of the busy department, we helped organise a protest that saw 5,000 people march up Holloway Road, with our double-decker battle bus complete with jazz band at the front.
The New Journal was also named Free Newspaper of the Year in a hotly contested category with judges having to choose from titles owned by some of the UK's biggest media companies
