ARTISTS of all ages came together at the weekend when a vibrant exhibition of hidden talents went on display at St Dominic’s Church in Gospel Oak.

More than 100 oil works, watercolours, handpainted postcards and embroideries transformed Blackfriars Hall in Southampton Road into a showcase of “People’s Art” as the parish celebrated its 21st paintings and crafts fair.

Organiser Robert Pellegrinetti, who included five of his own etchings in the exhibition, said: “We  had a good turnout, especially in the children’s category. Overall, we raised £488, which will go towards helping to refurbish the church.”

Artist Fatima de Souza, who has been involved in the annual event for more than 17 years, was thrilled to have her work back on display.

“A lot of people brought some lovely art along. I love taking part in the show, and helping to raise money for the church,” she said.
