BLOOMSBURY FESTIVAL - Oct 22-24... Young photographers turn their focus on self-image

IMAGE isn’t everything – as a group of 15 young people plan to show in the run-up to this year’s Bloomsbury Festival.
On Saturday the young photographers with Y Touring theatre company and One KX – two operations of Central YMCA in Great Russell Street – persuaded 60 people to drop in for a photo-shoot at the Wellcome Collection in Euston Road as part of their project examining the politics of body image.
Photographs taken on the day will be on display during the Bloomsbury Festival, which runs from October 22 to 24.
Organiser Steve Byrne of Y Touring said: “Every single person who took part sat down with complete strangers and had open and honest discussions about their bodies and the pressure they feel from the media.
“It was quite fantastic.”
