MURDER detectives have launched a fresh appeal for information about the shooting of a man in a King’s Cross nightclub in 2006.

Four years on from the night when Daniel Ross, 20, was shot dead on a packed dancefloor in Scala, police are still no closer to catching his killer.

They have re-released grainy CCTV images of customers entering the club in Pentonville Road moments before the shooting. They believe these are key to moving the case forward

Four men have been arrested and released without charge since officers from Trident – the specialist Met department that deals with black-on-black violence – started investigating.

It is understood there were around 1,000 people in the club at around 3.45am on Sunday, September 24 when Mr Ross was shot.

Despite the large crowd, police have been stumped by the lack of eyewitnesses, many of whom may fear reprisals.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Mark Brookes said: “People who called themselves Daniel’s friends have still not told the police what happened. Without their important evidence we will never solve this case and his family will remain haunted by unanswered questions.

“It is now four years since Daniel was taken from his family – they are desperate to know who killed him and why. It is a constant wound that cannot heal whilst the offender still remains unidentified.”

Mr Ross, a father of two from Kilburn, was shot in the head at point-blank range and died shortly after at University College Hospital. Last year his parents Ivan and Jean made an appeal on the BBC TV programme Crimewatch.

Anyone with any information is urged to ring the incident room on 020 8733 4704 or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
