March against spending review
Published: 30 September, 2010
A MARCH against cuts to public services will take place on the day Treasurer George Osborne announces his full proposals.
Campaigners want people to join the demonstration coinciding with the publication of the Comprehensive Spending Review on October 20.
It will start at Lincoln’s Inn Fields at 4.30pm before heading to Whitehall.
Camden Unison branch secretary George Binette said: “In our borough alone, 270 council jobs could go over the next year – but it is not just employees who will suffer. Our residents, be they council tenants, parents, job seekers or those in employment will all suffer.
“Our schools and council housing have already been hit with a £400million cut from their rebuilding and renovation projects.”
