PORTMAN Village in Marylebone was transformed into a whirlwind of music, food and balloons on Wednesday afternoon as residents supped champagne at a “summer lounge” street party.
The event in Seymour Place and New Quebec Street saw shops and restaurants extend onto the pavements to demonstrate what they do – and give away wine and treats to passers-by.
There were bongo-drum performances and comedy and dance routines, with food, perfume, clothes and antiques sold at stalls at discounted prices.
As afternoon turned into evening, the crowd moved to The Church of the Annunciation in Bryanston Street, which hosted an auction and raffle.
