Housing crisis will hit us all
Published: 17 September 2010
WHY does everyone seem to miss the thrust of what is going on in UK and has done over the last 15 or 20 years?
The supply of social housing is outstripped by demand and the recession and the further implications of the spending revue in October will no doubt impinge on building new and affordable housing.
This affects everyone in their ability to move within the social housing sector.
It does not matter what we do now... we will just have to muddle through until growth comes back into the economy… but then with wage freezes, and massive job cuts there will less to spend on goods and services. That’s what austerity means.
And the consequences will be so much more difficult for the less well off.
