THERE was flower fortunes for the Rowlatt family from Gospel Oak on Saturday when they blossomed at the Hampstead Horticultural Society Autumn Show. 

Held at the Gospel Oak Methodist Church in Agincourt Road, mother Bee won first place in the single rose category, while her daughters Eva and Zola finished first and second respectively in the children’s six-years-old-and-over seed tray garden category. 

Keeping the winning streak going, youngest daughter Elsa, 4, won the children’s five-or-under domestic category for her cheese straws.

Committee member Carol Bateman then joked that six-week old William Rowlatt was Hampstead Horticultural Society’s youngest member, and that he would soon be winning his own categories. 

Miss Bateman, who lives in Kentish Town, added: “It was a really successful show following a difficult season with drought and then downpours.”

Class 3: Annual Flowers: The winner was Margaret Scanlon

Class 23: Autumn Glory (An interpretive arrangement): Winner was Margaret Scanlon, while Carol Bateman was awarded 3rd place. 
Class 24 (A): Children’s Class (under 6 years old) seed tray garden: Winner was Elsie Singleton
Class 24 (B): Children’s Class (six years old and over) seed tray garden: Winner was Eva Rowlatt and 2nd was Zola Rowlatt
