HE is known for his twee depictions of the love lives of the upper classes, in soft-centred offerings such as Four Weddings And a Funeral, Notting Hill and Love, Actually.

But now film director Richard Curtis has turned his lens towards a much more pressing and serious topic: he has written a short movie based in Camden about our borough’s attempts to combat climate change.

The director has joined forces with Camden-based climate change campaign 10:10. Established by film-maker Franny Armstrong, who directed The Age of Stupid, the smash hit eco-doc, 10:10 asks people and institutions to pledge to cut their carbon footprint by 10 per cent this year.

The film is due to be shot on Friday at Camden School for Girls.

According to a film insider, the script – currently being kept secret – involves people discussing what they are doing for 10:10.

The insider said: “Those few who are not doing anything suffer the consequences in comic fashion.

“We are filming at Camden School For Girls because they have been a big supporter of the campaign.”

The piece will be around three minutes long, and will be shown at cinemas and on the internet. It is set to be released to coincide with an environmental action day slated for Sunday, October 10.

...and the nasty little snuff-movie has blown up in the hypocritical faces of the 10/10 grant-hippies and Richard Three-Homes Curtis alike.

As a result they have lost all major sponsors apart from 02.

Good.
