Surprise, surprise – Sainsbury’s Camden Road serves up birthday party

ONE of the longest-serving members of staff at a Camden Town supermarket was given a birthday surprise by her colleagues.

Margaret Case, or Maggie as she is known, was thrown a party at Sainsbury’s Camden Road store to celebrate her 70th birthday.

She was given flowers, chocolates, money and a card overflowing with messages from fellow staff.

Maggie has worked in the supermarket for nearly 30 years.

“I wasn’t expecting any of this,” she said. “It makes you realise you don’t just get colleagues at work – you get friends also.”
