POLICE have appealed for information after a 14-year-old boy was ambushed as he waited for a bus in Kilburn and stabbed twice in the back.

Labour councillor Abdul Hai, Camden’s community safety chief, said the incident on Monday afternoon was thought to be gang-related involving youths from Queen’s Crescent and Kilburn, while police said they were “not ruling out” gang activity.

The teenager was set upon by around six youths as he waited for a bus at the junction of Belsize Road and Abbey Road at around 5pm. He remains in a stable condition in hospital.

There were four stabbings last month believed to have arisen from a grudge between gangs from Queen’s Crescent and Rowley Way in Abbey Road, Kilburn.

A meeting was held yesterday (Wednesday) between police and Town Hall officials to organise an “action plan” although officers are not linking the incidents at this stage.
