TV and radio presenter Vanessa Feltz has been ordered to pay more than £3,000 by a judge after neighbours complained of a noisy party in her St John’s Wood home.

Ms Feltz did not attend City of Westminster Magistrates Court last Thursday but pleaded guilty by letter to breaching two separate noise abatement orders over two days in March.

The council received 12 complaints about loud music coming from a marquee in her garden, for what was understood to be her daughter’s engagement party.

District Judge Daphne Wickham handed Ms Feltz two £1,500 fines with an additional £1,715 in costs to Westminster Council.

The first complaint was made on March 27, a Saturday afternoon, when noise patrol officers warned Ms Feltz about playing loud music on the residential street, serving her with an abatement order. Another complaint was made shortly after 10pm, when officers visited a second time.

But further complaints were made the next day.

Andy Ralph, licensing manager at Westminster City Council, said: “We investigate all complaints and treat each one as seriously as the next no matter who makes them or who they are made about.”
